Gerald M. Trimble

Mr. Trimble is Managing Principal of Keyser Marston Associates, Inc., San Diego. He came to Keyser Marston in 1992 after five years as president of the USC Real Estate Development Corporation, a for-profit real estate development corporation wholly owned by USC, and 10 years as the chief executive officer of the Centre City Development Corporation, San Diego.

Key Role

Few others in this country have been as instrumental in the process of community revitalization. Mr. Trimble, for example, played the principal role in the rebirth of downtown San Diego that now features the world-famous Horton Plaza mixed-use project, 13,200 new housing units completed and 28,000 housing units planned and under development, both affordable and market rate, the very popular Gaslamp Quarter restaurant and entertainment district, and the new ballpark district.

Mr. Trimble’s past involvement in redevelopment with nonprofit corporations, public agencies, and institutions gives him an extraordinary grasp of the critical steps in the process of implementing complex mixed-use and public-private real estate projects.

Developer Selection

Mr. Trimble is currently assisting a number of public sector and institutional clients in the process of developer solicitation and selection. Examples of completed assignments are Naval Training Center master developer selection, Austin Museum of Art Joint Development, Austin, Texas the County of San Diego Santee Property developer selection, the County of San Diego developer selection for the Gillespie Field Business Park, the County of San Diego Operation Center Master Plan developer selection, and developer solicitation, evaluation, selection and negotiations for the San Diego Housing Commission’s Smart Corner mixed-use development.

Disposition Strategies and Negotiations

Mr. Trimble is currently assisting public agencies, institutions, and private clients in negotiating business terms and implementing mixed-use projects, expansion plans, public - private developments and other real estate driven projects.

Military Base, Defense Conversion and Repositioning and Large Acreage Master Developer Projects

Mr. Trimble consulted with the City of San Diego and the U.S. Navy on the reuse of the Naval Training Center in San Diego, MCAS El Toro in Orange County, the repositioning of the General Dynamics property in San Diego, March AFB in Riverside County, and a 120-acre property owned by Riverside Community College, and the 820 acre Tustin Legacy development in the City of Tustin at the former MCAS Tustin Base.

Community Revitalization, Economic Development, and Disposition Consulting Strategies

Mr. Trimble has specialized in these activities for over 25 years. He currently assists clients in diverse communities such as the Southeastern Economic Development Corporation in San Diego, the Metropolitan Transit Development Board for the Grossmont Trolley Station joint development and the East Recreation Area and North Property Development Project for the Metropolitan Water District adjacent to Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet. Mr. Trimble is uniquely positioned to plan and implement public - private development strategies.

Professional Credentials

Mr. Trimble is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Public-Private Council and is a charter member and past president of Lambda Alpha, San Diego Chapter. Mr. Trimble earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California, and his Real Estate Certificate from the University of California, Los Angeles.
