Michael D. Tactay – New Principal in KMA San Diego Office
KMA is happy to share the exciting announcement that Michael Tactay has been promoted to Principal in the San Diego office.
Since joining KMA in 2014, Michael has been an integral part of both the San Diego office and the larger KMA team. He leads KMA San Diego’s fiscal and economic impact analyses and Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (EIFD) work and has extensive experience with General Plan/Specific Plan assignments, with a particular focus on in-fill and transit-oriented development and economic development strategies.
A few notable high-profile assignments have included:
- Feasibility analyses and district formation of the Otay Mesa EIFD for the City of San Diego
- Economic impact analyses for the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan
- Financial feasibility analyses for the Complete Communities Housing Solutions Program for the City of San Diego
Michael has assumed a leadership role in the local Urban Land Institute San Diego-Tijuana chapter as Vice Chair of the Technical Assistance Panels Committee and teaches each year at the California Association for Local Economic Development Advanced Institute for Economic Development. He is an active member of the American Planning Association, San Diego Housing Federation, Citizens Coordinate for Century 3, and Circulate San Diego. Through this wide-ranging experience and community involvement, Michael has developed strong client relationships and an extensive network with other professionals in our field. He holds B.A. degrees in Economics and Political Science from UC Irvine as well as a Certificate in Real Estate Finance, Investments, and Development from the University of San Diego.
